Niemen Loma's cozy rental cottages are located in a quiet place on the shore of Lake Välijärvi. The lakeside cottages in Kuusamo are a dream location for nature loving people; you can swim, fish, walk, pick berries, ski, or go on snowmobile rides etc.

The nature is pine-dominated forests, easy to get around on foot or even on mountain bikes. Variability in the landscape is given by the wetlands between the pine woods and the forested woods as well as the old fields. The lakes are also a significant part of nature.

The history of the farm extends to the 1760s. The place already existed as a place of rest for the travelers, along the route to Russia. The yard of the main building has been built in its present form after the war. The cottages are located in the old yard.

The current type of cottage rental began in 1998 as part of agriculture and forestry business.

We at Niemen Lomat aim to provide our customers with a comfortable and peaceful setting to enjoy their time here. The cottages for rent are located in a quiet place on the shore of the clear Lake of Välijärvi. For canoeing and trolling enthusiasts, the location is excellent.

We are in the abundant lake region of Kuusamo. For good reason, the brochures of local tourism industry tell a lot about the Lake District of Kuusamo.

Forests are coniferous pine forests, with easy access for children also. In between the forested areas there are swamps and wetlands. You will find great bilberry (blueberry) and lingonberry areas in the forests. A few kilometers eastwards there are also cloudberry swamps. Cranberry is found every year. Mushrooms are found everywhere. Mushroom species of forests include, Lacterius (milk-caps), Russula and Boletes.

In the forests, mountain bikers have trails made by reindeer, including challenging terrain.
